El tandilense derrotó por 6-2 y 6-2 a Martín Vassallo Argüello en 1h 19m y pasó de ronda en Key Biscayne.
El tandilense superó ampliamente a su compañero. Le bastó sólo con quebrar su saque en cuatro opotunidades (dos por set) para llevarse el match y pasar a la tercera ronda de Key Biscayne. Este fue el primer choque oficial entre ambos.
